{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.47-010","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.47-010","heading":"Legislative findings.","body":"(1) The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky finds that the forests of\nthe Commonwealth provide abundant, renewal timber resources that historically\nhave been underdeveloped, underutilized, and poorly managed, but which have\nproven to be resilient;  and that, with proper planning, management, harvesting,\nvalue-added processing and manufacturing, and marketing, these resources will\ncontinue to grow in importance to the Commonwealth's economy.\n(2) The General Assembly further finds that through proper attention and direction by\nthe agencies of the Commonwealth and its public educational institutions working\nin partnership with secondary wood products businesses, the secondary wood\nproducts industry as a key industrial sector of the Commonwealth's future economic\ngrowth and health, should prosper through the generation of new and expanding\nsecondary wood products manufacturers by supporting improved management and\nharvesting practices, by developing and implementing workers' training programs to\nupgrade the skills of Kentuckians employed in the wood products processing and\nmanufacturing industry, by assisting the private sector to adapt existing\nmanufacturing systems to new or improved technologies and world class\nmanagement practices for the purposes of i ncreasing product quality and\nproductivity of Kentucky's wood products manufacturers and processors and\nenhancing the global competitiveness of Kentucky secondary wood products\nindustries.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=2933","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:57Z","sha256":"999ed6522582c3abe7cbfbbe7b01ff9737515e5d1ca38fce40e122305ebef076","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.47-005","next":"us-ky/krs-154.47-015"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
