{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.50-326","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.50-326","heading":"Membership of authority.","body":"(1) The members of the authority shall be appointed as follows:\n(a) If the authority is established by a city, the members shall be appointed by the\nmayor of the city;\n(b) If the authority is established by a county, the members shall be appointed by\nthe county judge/executive;\n(c) If the authority is established as a joint city -county industrial development\nauthority, one-half (1/2) of the members shall be appointed by the mayor and\none-half (1/2) of the members by the county judge/executive. If the authority\nis composed of seven (7) members, the mayor and the county judge/executive\nshall jointly appoint the seventh member;\n(d) If a combination of cities and/or counties establishes a joint industrial\ndevelopment authority, or if an established joint industrial development\nauthority is altered by adding a new city or county as a participating member,\nthe mayors and/or county judges/executive involved shall:\n1. Jointly choose the members, and shall jointly choose successors; or\n2. Choose the members and successors  in a manner established by an\nagreement entered into between the legislative bodies of the affected\ncities and counties.\n(2) Members of the authority shall serve for a term of four (4) years each, and until their\nsuccessors are appointed and qualified. If  the authority is composed of six (6)\nmembers, initial appointments shall be made so that two (2) members are appointed\nfor two (2) years, two (2) members for three (3) years, and two (2) members for four\n(4) years. If the authority is composed of seven (7 ) members, initial appointments\nshall be made so that two (2) members are appointed for two (2) years, two (2)\nmembers for three (3) years, and three (3) members for four (4) years. If the\nauthority is composed of eight (8) members, initial appointments sh all be made so\nthat two (2) members are appointed for two (2) years, three (3) members for three\n(3) years, and three (3) members for four (4) years. Upon expiration of these\nstaggered terms, successors shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years.\n(3) An industrial development authority member may be replaced by the appointing\nauthority upon a showing to the appointing authority of misconduct as an authority\nmember or upon conviction of a felony.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=2965","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:57Z","sha256":"2136eaad2fe61fd7e5d9fdf755a46819a319c40a40f922ea6823337f7feb061b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.50-323","next":"us-ky/krs-154.50-330"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
