{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-154.90-015","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 154.90-015","heading":"Powers and duties of corporation.","body":"The Northern Kentucky Convention Center Corporation:\n(1) Shall supervise the design and construction of the Northern Kentucky Convention\nCenter, and shall provide all management functions for the facility and for any other\nproperty acquired or leased pursuant to its powers under this section;\n(2) May take, acquire, and hold property, and all interests therein, by deed, purchase,\ngift, devise, bequest, or lease, or by transfer from the State Property and Buildings\nCommission, and may dispose of any property so acquired in any manner provided\nby law.\n(3) May issue revenue bonds, subject to procedures which shall be established by the\nFinance and Administration Cabinet, solely payable from the revenues and other\nfunds pledged for their payment for the purpose o f paying all or any part of the cost\nof any project or for the acquisition of property;\n(4) Shall promote the growth and development of the convention trade, tourism, and\nthe hotel, restaurant, and entertainment industry in Northern Kentucky and the\nCommonwealth, through utilization of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center to\nenhance these and the public interest;\n(5) May adopt administrative regulations, as provided in KRS Chapter 13A, governing\nthe operation, maintenance, or use of property under its custody and control;\n(6) May levy a surcharge on tickets for functions held within the center to contribute to\noperating revenue;\n(7) Shall have the exclusive control of all exhibitions, performances, and concessions in\nthe Northern Kentucky Convention Cente r. The corporation shall have a prior lien\nupon the property of any private exhibitor, concessionaire, or other person holding\nan exhibition or performance or operating a concession in the center, and may sell\nthe property upon ten (10) days notice to satisfy any indebtedness:\n(8) Shall participate with local hotels and the travel industry to develop tourist packages\nand additional services to attract conferences and conventions to the region;\n(9) May establish an executive committee from among its membersh ip with full\nauthority to act between its meetings to the extent delegated by the corporation; and\n(10) May sue and be sued and maintain and defend legal actions in its corporate name.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3004","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:58Z","sha256":"8514c921100a52c8d02bb65383ccf12ea79f3b96038b87746f0facb7701d33b8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-154.90-010","next":"us-ky/krs-154.90-020"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
