{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.026","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.026","heading":"Credits allowed transferred district employee.","body":"(1) For purposes of this section, full -time service in a local school for not less than one\nhundred forty (140) days during the school year entitles an employee who transfers\nto the Department of Education to a full year of experience credit on the Personnel\nCabinet pay schedule and a full year for the purpose of accumulation of annual\nleave and sick leave in the Department of Education.\n(2) An employee of a local school district who transfers to become an employee of the\nDepartment of Education after June 30, 1983, shall be allowed to transfer accrued\nsick leave up to the maximum allowed for transfers for teachers between school\ndistricts as provided by KRS 161.155(4). The employee shall be allowed credit for\neach year of experience in the local school system f or the purposes of determining\nsalary in accordance with the current Personnel Cabinet pay schedule, and the rate\nof accumulation of annual and sick leave in the Department of Education.\n(3) For purposes of determining eligibility for additional leave or o ther benefits based\non longevity of service, an employee transferring from a school district to the\nDepartment of Education after June 30, 1983, shall be given credit for each year of\nservice in the school district, as determined under subsection (1) of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3097","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:59Z","sha256":"022b1e09ce37071b418e0f4c1b45077846919fbc831bcf3ba8d63d466876cb03","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.024","next":"us-ky/krs-156.027"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
