{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.076","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.076","heading":"Price contracts information to be furnished district boards -- Purchase","body":"conditions.\nThe chief state school officer shall furnish full information on established price contracts\nto each district board of education. Any board of education may purchase s upplies and\nequipment from the vendor to whom the contract has been awarded, under the terms of\nthe contract. Any board of education may advertise for its own bids on supplies and\nequipment which meet the specifications of the contracts awarded by the Offi ce of\nMaterial and Procurement Services in the Office of the Controller. Any board of\neducation, after advertising for bids, may award contracts if the chief state school officer\ncertifies that the bid offers supplies and equipment which meet the standards  and\nspecifications fixed by the Kentucky Board of Education and that the bid price is lower\nthan that established by the price contract agreement. If supplies and equipment that meet\nthe specifications of the contracts awarded by the Office of Material an d Procurement\nServices or a federal, local, or cooperative agency are available for purchase elsewhere, a\nboard of education may purchase those supplies and equipment without advertising for\nbids. However, prior to making the purchases, the board of educat ion shall obtain\ncertification from:\n(1) The Department of Education for technology components defined in the master plan\nfor education technology for which standards have been established by the\nKentucky Board of Education. The department shall certify th at the items to be\npurchased meet or exceed, at a lower cost, the specifications of the components of\nthe original equipment of manufacturers currently holding Kentucky education\ntechnology system price contracts; and\n(2) The district's finance officer for supplies and equipment other than that described in\nsubsection (1) of this section. He shall certify that the items to be purchased meet\nthe standards and specifications fixed by state price contract, federal (GSA) price\ncontract, the local school distric t's bid, or the bid of another school district whose\nbid specifications allow other districts to utilize their bids, and that the sales price is\nlower than that established by the price contract agreement or available through the\nbidding process and the pr ice does not exceed two thousand five hundred dollars\n($2,500).","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3112","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:59Z","sha256":"f45260c15d2a99f775336b72d35492c4fde247b9e0dff2a5dd525b9b6eb11a52","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.074","next":"us-ky/krs-156.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
