{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.395","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.395","heading":"Definitions for KRS 156.395 to 156.476.","body":"As used in KRS 156.395 to 156.476, unless the context requires otherwise:\n(1) \"Department\" means the Kentucky Department of Education;\n(2) \"Grade band\" means a collection of two (2) or more consecutive grade levels that\nare interconnected for cohesive instructional purposes in a content area;\n(3) \"Instructional materials\" means tools used to assist in student learning, as defined in\nadministrative regulations promulgated by the Kentucky Board of Education in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A;\n(4) \"Instructional materials depository\" or \"depository\" means the instructional\nmaterials depository established under KRS 156.412;\n(5) \"Instructional materials reviewer\" means a professional or lay citizen recommended\nand approved under KRS 156.407 to provide assistance  to the department and task\nforce in the review of instructional materials;\n(6) \"State-approved list\" means the list of high quality instructional materials and\nprograms developed, approved, and published under KRS 156.395 to 156.476; and\n(7) \"Task force\" means the State Quality Curriculum Task Force established in KRS\n156.405.","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56669","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:00Z","sha256":"bb878cd3031681be20f819a1c3a8548299705959be4269af0d270ffd9038b2b0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.380","next":"us-ky/krs-156.400"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
