{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.412","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.412","heading":"Instructional materials depository -- Establishment -- Duties -- Required","body":"use by school districts and Department of Education.\n(1) (a) The Kentucky Department of Education shall establish an instructional\nmaterials depository for the schools of the Commonwealth.\n(b) The department may enter into contracts to designate an entity to serve as the\ndepartment's agent to carry out the responsibilities of the depository under\nKRS 156.395 to 156.476.\n(c) To leverage the purchasing power of the Comm onwealth's schools, the\ndepository shall negotiate prices on behalf of the department and all school\ndistricts.\n(2) (a) In accordance with KRS Chapter 45A, school districts and the department\nshall use the depository in purchasing the instructional materia ls included in\nthe state-approved list established by the State Quality Curriculum Task Force\nunder KRS 156.395 to 156.476.\n(b) Superintendents of school districts shall use the instructional materials\ndepository to report the school district's selection o f instructional materials to\nthe department, unless the school district purchases approved alternate\ninstructional materials under KRS 156.439.\n(3) The depository shall make available to school districts and the public the necessary\ninformation for assessi ng the instructional materials included in the state -approved\nlist. The information shall include but not be limited to:\n(a) Each of the instructional materials included in the state -approved list, capable\nof being organized by grade or grade band and content area;\n(b) Summary results of the instructional materials evaluations conducted by the\ntask force and any factual error identified in the instructional materials;\n(c) A list of the accompanying manuals, workbooks, and other ancillary items for\ninstructional materials included in the state-approved list; and\n(d) A list of the school districts within the state that have adopted each of the\ninstructional materials, including for each school district:\n1. The statewide assessment results in the associated content area; and\n2.
