{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.439","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.439","heading":"District allocation of state instructional materials funds -- Use -- School","body":"plans -- Carryover.\n(1) The Kentucky Board of Education shall promulgate administrative regulations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A to establish the method for c alculating and\ndistributing a district's allocation of state instructional materials funds. The district's\nallocation shall be used by schools to purchase:\n(a) Instructional materials and programs from the state-approved list;\n(b) Instructional materials a nd programs not on the state -approved list if\nnotification is submitted to the department that the material meets the\nselection criteria of the task force in KRS 156.405(3)(a) or (b), the subject\nspecific criteria of the instructional materials reviewers p ursuant to KRS\n156.407(4), and compliance with the required specifications;\n(c) Instructional materials and programs, with an approved plan pursuant to\nsubsection (2) of this section;\n(d) Instructional materials and programs for a subject not included in t he state-\napproved list if the district demonstrates that the district already maintains\nhigh quality instructional materials in the subjects included on the state -\napproved list and has a need in a subject not included on the state -approved\nlist; or\n(e) Any combination of the above.\n(2) The district shall use the instructional materials depository established in KRS\n156.412 to identify all purchases it makes with an instructional materials allocation\nand shall keep on file a plan developed by each school, in  accordance with\nadministrative regulations promulgated by the Kentucky Board of Education, for\nproviding the necessary instructional materials for all grades for reading and\nwriting, mathematics, science, and social studies.
