{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.488","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.488","heading":"Department to communicate core content and career -readiness standards,","body":"assist in identifying students who are academically behind or have high\nabsentee rates or discipline problems, and develop enhanced courses to be\noffered.\n(1) Prior to January 1, 2013, the Kentucky Department of Education shall communicate\nto all local school districts the minimum core content standards for postsecondary\neducation introductory courses and career -readiness standards required under KRS\n158.6453.\n(2) Prior to the begin ning of the 2013 -2014 school year, the department shall assist\ndistricts in the analyses of assessment data to identify students who are\nacademically behind, who have higher than normal absentee rates, or who have a\nrecord of discipline problems at the end  of grade six (6), grade eight (8), grade nine\n(9), grade ten (10), and grade eleven (11).\n(3) The department shall develop enhanced courses in English, reading, and\nmathematics to be offered to students in grade six (6), grade nine (9), grade ten (10),\ngrade eleven (11), and grade twelve (12) who are academically behind to help them\nmeet the college and career-readiness standards.","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=40072","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:00Z","sha256":"70e762daeb0379254d9e3eae41583f3fb4296792e17ff873636032df84e976b8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.487","next":"us-ky/krs-156.490"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
