{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.495","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.495","heading":"Program to identify and locate missing children enrolled in Kentucky","body":"schools.\n(1) The Department of Education shall weekly distribute the names, provided by the\nDepartment of Kentucky State Police, of all missing children and children who have\nbeen re covered to all public and private schools admitting children in preschool\nthrough grade twelve (12).\n(2) Every public and private school in this state shall notify local law enforcement or\nthe Department of Kentucky State Police at its earliest known contact with any child\nwhose name appears on the list of missing Kentucky children.\n(3) The department shall encourage each public and private school to engage in a\nprogram whereby the parents of children who are absent from school are notified in\nperson or by telephone to verify if they know that the child is not attending school.","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3206","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:00Z","sha256":"6938c9e865cfb64f35dad82c69ae01f9b85067bbbdd550e2325e54363f1833df","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.492","next":"us-ky/krs-156.496"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
