{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-156.990","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 156.990","heading":"Penalties.","body":"(1) Any witness who fails, without legal excuse, to attend or to testify, when required\nby the chief state school officer under these provisions, shall be fined not more than\ntwenty-five dollars ($25) for each offense.\n(2) Any person who violates any of the pr ovisions of KRS 156.395 to 156.476 shall be\nfined not more than five hundred dollars ($500) or imprisoned not more than three\n(3) months, or both.\n(3) A violation of subsection (1) of KRS 156.483 shall cause the Department of\nEducation to be fined not less  than five hundred dollars ($500) or more than one\nthousand dollars ($1,000).\n(4) Any person who operates a non -school bus passenger vehicle to transport a student\nor students within the Commonwealth without holding a current valid license as\nrequired pursuant to KRS 156.153(3)(c) shall be guilty of a Class D felony.","path":["KRS Chapter 156"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56683","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:01Z","sha256":"094897a6ca5ed9e05138359f788a5271b3b4c7cd17a8bec7b4137630ae8e7e64","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-156.860","next":"us-ky/krs-157.010"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
