{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-157.915","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 157.915","heading":"Functions of council.","body":"The functions of the council shall be to:\n(1) Create and update annually a five (5) year management and operational plan to\nmake as effective as possible the coordination, delivery, and marketing of all state\nenvironmental education programs;\n(2) Establish an interagency subcommittee to advise the cou ncil on environmental\neducation matters;\n(3) Establish and help coordinate the activities of regional environmental education\ncenters and advisory committees at all state universities and at the central office of\nthe Kentucky Community and Technical Colleg e System to serve as networks for\nthe dissemination of environmental education programs, materials, and information\nacross the state;\n(4) Establish a competitive system for awarding grants for the establishment and\nmaintenance of regional environmental education centers;\n(5) Seek and receive private support to fund state and regional environmental education\ninitiatives;\n(6) Assist in the integration and evaluation of environmental education in existing\nschool curricula;\n(7) Monitor and report periodically o n environmental literacy in Kentucky and\ncontinually assess trends and needs in environmental education on a local, state,\nnational, and global basis; and\n(8) Make recommendations and seek changes through regulations, legislation, and other\nmeans to promote environmental literacy in Kentucky.","path":["KRS Chapter 157"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42351","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:03Z","sha256":"1e801d0c3a56bcf0fbdefeb4aeead40a4947ee1759d0c9ba1c976192e86071d2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-157.910","next":"us-ky/krs-157.920"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
