{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.164","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.164","heading":"Building lockdown procedures -- Practice.","body":"(1) As used in this section, \"building lockdown\" means to restrict the mobility of\nbuilding occupants to maintain their safety and care.\n(2) Each local board of education shall require the school council or, if none exists, the\nprincipal in each public school building in its jurisdiction to establish procedures to\nperform a building lockdown, including protective measures to be taken during and\nimmediately following the lockdown. Local law enforcement agencies shall be\ninvited to assist in establishing lockdown procedures.\n(3) Students, certified staff, and classified staff shall be informed annually of building\nlockdown procedures.\n(4) A building lockdown practice shall be held at least twice during each school year,\nwith at least one (1) practice being held within the first thirty (30) instructional days\nof the school year and one (1) practice being held during the month of January.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42584","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:04Z","sha256":"2abe1c2f53bfe748a307277a650208598b8902099cb8af87dad878b401f5b0a3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.163","next":"us-ky/krs-158.165"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
