{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.479","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.479","heading":"Emergency vehicles -- Radio systems -- Reporting.","body":"(1) Vehicles used for emergency purposes by the police department of a school district\nshall be considered emergency vehicles, be equipped with blue lights and sirens,\nand be operated in conformance with the requirements of KRS Chapter 189.\n(2) Police officers directly employed by the board of education of a local school district\npursuant to KRS 158.471 shall have the rights accorded to peace officers provided\nunder KRS 527.020.\n(3) Police departments established by boards of education may install, maintain, an d\noperate radio systems on police or other radio frequencies under licenses issued by\nthe Federal Communications Commission, or its successor, KRS 432.570 to the\ncontrary notwithstanding.\n(4) Police departments of local school districts shall comply with t he requirements of\nthe Kentucky Revised Statutes and the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet with\nregard to reporting of criminal and other statistics.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53040","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:05Z","sha256":"0c2c231cb18c1fb35eb06400391d51ffdfc717e864d51f60bdb0a5f4b8032e0e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.477","next":"us-ky/krs-158.481"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
