{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.487","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.487","heading":"Civil penalties -- Disposition of revenues.","body":"(1) The amount of a civil penalty for a stop arm camera violation shall be:\n(a) Three hundred dollars ($300) for the first civil penalty; and\n(b) Five hundred dollars ($500) for each subsequent civil penalty issued to an\nowner within a three (3) year period.\n(2) All revenue generated from a civil penalty for a stop arm camera violation shall be\ncollected and retained by the school district operating the camera monitoring\nsystem, unless the penalty is collected as a result of action taken in the Court of\nJustice, in which case court costs may be deducted from the amount paid to the\nschool district.\n(3) A law enforcement agency may charge and collect from the school district a fee of\ntwenty-five dollars ($25) from every civil penalty collected by the school distri ct\nunder this section for a violation that was enforced by the law enforcement agency.\n(4) A stop arm camera violation shall not result in points being assessed against the\ndriving record of the owner or operator of the vehicle in violation.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57412","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:05Z","sha256":"801e863b19600847efd762508637cd95a8c5d5a84570a384c02641b5dcbbffe8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.486","next":"us-ky/krs-158.488"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
