{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.6450","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.6450","heading":"Instruction in voter registration and election procedures.","body":"(1) The General Assembly hereby finds that knowledge of procedures for voter\nregistration and participation in elections is essential for all Kentucky students to\nacquire the capacities established in KRS 158.645(2) and (4). Instruction in election\nprocedures is consistent with the goals of responsible citizenship established in\nKRS 158.6451.\n(2) Every secondary school shall provide students in the twelfth grade information on:\n(a) How to register to vote;\n(b) How to vote in an election using a ballot; and\n(c) How to vote using an absentee ballot.\n(3) A school may provide this information through classroom activities, written\nmaterials, electronic communication, Internet resources, participation in mock\nelections, and other methods identified by the principal af ter consulting with\nteachers.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39730","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:05Z","sha256":"682d6f2d482747c79b0505096a73bb586bc3b98f31ee6f8dd9611c3dbaafbe78","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.645","next":"us-ky/krs-158.6451"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
