{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.6456","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.6456","heading":"Locally developed indicators of quality -- Data -- Department of","body":"Education assistance and payment -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Locally developed indicators of quality\" means measures or indicators\ncreated or adopted by a local school district that:\n1. Are aligned with the academic standards established in KRS 158.6453;\n2. Allow all students to demonstrate their ability to apply grade -\nappropriate, standards -driven knowledge, content, and skills in real -\nworld applications; and\n3. May include additional locally identified indicators related to priorities\nestablished by the local community that serve to complement the\nrequirements in subparagraphs 1. and 2. of this paragraph. These\nindicators may include student  well-being, fiscal responsibility, or\nschool safety; and\n(b) \"Vibrant learning\" means an educational experience that is:\n1.  Characterized by student agency and the application of knowledge and\nskills aligned with the academic standards established in KRS 158.6453;\n2. Developed in partnership with students' families, local communities, and\nthe local workforce; and\n3. Demonstrated through personalized projects, outputs, experiences, or\nother produced results reflecting each individual student's academic and\ncareer interests.\n(2) Each local school district may develop and implement a system of locally\ndeveloped indicator s of quality in accordance with administrative regulations\npromulgated by the Kentucky Board of Education. The locally developed indicators\nof quality shall include:\n(a) Student participation in vibrant learning experiences; and\n(b) Locally developed indicators of performance.\n(3) A local school district utilizing a system of locally developed indicators of quality\nshall:\n(a) When an indicator involves student data, include student performance data for\nall students, disaggregated by individual subgroups, where permissible; and\n(b) Develop a publicly available, online display that clearly communicates each\napplicable school and the district's performance on the locally developed\nindicators of quality, disaggregated by individual subgroups, where\npermissible.\n(4) The Kentucky Department of Education:\n(a) Shall offer technical assistance to local school districts in their development\nof locally developed indicators of quality; and\n(b) May offer a one (1) time payment to offset costs incurred by local school\ndistricts in the development of locally developed indicators of quality. A\nfinancial payment provided under this paragraph shall not exceed fifteen\nthousand dollars ($15,000) per district.\n(5) The Kentucky Board of Education may promulgate administrative regul ations in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A necessary to administer the provisions of this\nsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57836","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:05Z","sha256":"0e522a60c317447049c21c133519a88f6fd8276b939194c83c7a804f0755481e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.6455","next":"us-ky/krs-158.6457"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
