{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.6458","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.6458","heading":"Plan for implementation of state assessment  and accountability","body":"system  -- Report.\nThe  Department of Education shall develop a plan for implementing the state\nassessment and accountability system created under KRS  158.6453 and 158.6455\nand  shall report quarterly to the Interim Joint Committee on Education on its\nprogress in the following areas:\n(1) Establishing a consistent structure of test components, grade-level testing\ndistribution, and test administration procedures;\n(2) Beginning a new cycle of equating procedures for which their adequacy and\nprecision can  be  tested rigorously and  conducting appropriate equating\nanalyses to accommodate  the new accountability system;\n(3) Publishing more  complete and  informative guides for interpreting school\naccountability changes;\n(4) Reviewing school accountability classifications to assure their construct validity\nin all cases where they are applied;\n(5) Developing and implementing a validity research plan as required under KRS\n158.6453;\n(6) Establishing additional routine audits of key processes in the assessment and\naccountability program;\n(7) Maintaining and cataloging a library of technical documents related to the\nassessment  and  accountability program  for internal and  external review\npurposes. In addition, the department shall produce an annual technical report\nfor audiences that include educators, testing coordinators, parents, and\nlegislators; and\n(8) Maintaining a vigorous ongoing program of research and documentation of the\neffects of the assessment and accountability system on Kentucky schools.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=45617","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:05Z","sha256":"806885f415e6f2215ca4ae7ee834bb3bec5c85ec50a39a6fd7d0b97314b92a39","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.6457","next":"us-ky/krs-158.6459"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
