{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.6471","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.6471","heading":"Meetings -- Education Assessment and Accountability Review","body":"Subcommittee, powers, process, and procedures when reviewing -- Assignment\nof regulation to committee -- Education committees, powers, process, and\nprocedures when reviewing.\n(1) When reviewing an administrative regulation pursuant to KRS 158.647, the\nEducation Assessment and Accountability Review Subcommittee shall have the\nsame powers and use the same process and procedures as the Administrative\nRegulation Review Subcommittee unde r KRS Chapter 13A, except as otherwise\nauthorized by subsection (2) of this section.\n(2) (a) If the subcommittee places an administrative regulation on its agenda for\nreview, and at that meeting the subcommittee fails to achieve a quorum to\nconduct the rev iew, the administrative regulation shall be deferred for up to\nforty-five (45) days and shall be placed on the agenda for review at the\nsubcommittee's next meeting.\n(b) If at the next meeting the subcommittee fails to achieve a quorum, then the\nadministrative regulation shall be considered reviewed by the subcommittee\nand shall proceed in accordance with the process outlined under KRS Chapter\n13A.\n(3) The subcommittee may request the same professional and clerical support as is\nprovided to the Administrati ve Regulation Review Subcommittee in reviewing\nadministrative regulations.\n(4) After review by the subcommittee, the Commission shall at its next regularly\nscheduled meeting assign a filed administrative regulation as appropriate to the\nInterim Joint Commi ttee on Education, the Senate standing Education Committee,\nthe House standing Education Committee, or the Senate and the House standing\ncommittees meeting jointly.\n(5) When reviewing an administrative regulation, the Education Committee shall have\nthe sam e powers and use the same process and procedures as other interim joint\ncommittees or standing committees with subject matter jurisdiction under KRS\nChapter 13A.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51290","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:06Z","sha256":"8046dca6384aac45b1f24886f9e66e0184cad740f94e4745fed353f6d2a0e35d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.647","next":"us-ky/krs-158.6472"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
