{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.760","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.760","heading":"School-to-Careers System -- Legislative intent -- Goals.","body":"(1) It is the intent of the General Assembly that a School -to-Careers System be\ndeveloped to serve as an umbrella for career -related programs in the public schools,\nincluding School-to-Work, Tech Prep, and High Schools That Work initiatives.\n(2) The goals of the School-to-Careers System shall be to:\n(a) Increase the math, science, communications, social studies, and technical\nskills of all students through the implementation of a more rigorous and\nrelevant applied curriculum and instructional process;\n(b) Increase the awareness of job and career availability in the future workforce\nand the skills required to obtain those positions;\n(c) Increase the postsecondary education's entry and completion rates and reduce\nthe percentage of students taking remedial courses;\n(d) Decrease the high school dropout rate through a system of increased guidance\nand extra help focused on academics and career achievement;\n(e) Make all students aware of employer expectations in order to be successful;\n(f) Increase the daily attendance rate at all secondary schools; and\n(g) Provide the educational experiences that will cause all students to meet the\ngoals and capacities identified in KRS 158.645 and KRS 158.6451 for\nKentucky students.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3580","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:06Z","sha256":"cb72910e6598c9d42cfcdcb0e3eafe24ac7826aa6d41f7d659ca4f4a243c68f6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.750","next":"us-ky/krs-158.7603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
