{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.807","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.807","heading":"Data research initiative -- Purposes -- Implementation.","body":"(1) There is hereby created the Kentucky data research initiative, a partnership between\nelementary and secondary schools and postsecondary education research institutions\nto maximize research capabilities through computer resources. The initiative shall\nbe jointly facilitated by the Kentucky Department of Education and the Council on\nPostsecondary Education.\n(2) The purposes of the data research initiative are to expand the availability of\ncomputing resources not available at the research institutions at a rel atively low\ncost, to do education outreach to students and teachers in Kentucky's K -12 system,\nto expand the research institutions' presence throughout the state, and to maximize\nthe use of computer assets that have already been purchased in K-12 systems but are\noften underused.\n(3) By December 1, 2005, the commissioner of the Department of Education and the\npresident of the Council on Postsecondary Education shall convene appropriate\npostsecondary education and elementary and secondary educators and\nadministrators to determine how this initiative might be developed, funded, and\nutilized to enhance research capabilities in the sciences and health -related fields or\nother appropriate fields of research.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3602","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:06Z","sha256":"7f3f53742df5fc52f20d9caaa9bdb53147976d172cc62eee7a81228491025ebe","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.806","next":"us-ky/krs-158.808"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
