{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.814","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.814","heading":"Comprehensive plan on secondary career and technical education","body":"programs -- Consultation with Career and Technical Education Advisory\nCommittee.\n(1) In order to ensure that high -quality, relevant secondary career and technical\nprograms are available to students in all school districts that enable them to gain the\nacademic and technical skills to meet high school graduation requirements and for\nsuccessful transition to postsecondary education, work, or the military and to\nsupport present -day and future  needs of Kentucky employers, the Department of\nEducation shall:\n(a) Review and revise as needed the equipment and facilities standards for each\ncareer and technical education program identified and described in the career\nand technical education supplemen t to the Kentucky program of studies and\npublished by the Department of Education; and\n(b) Determine the statewide unmet needs for career and technical education\ncapital projects, including renovations and expansions of existing facilities\nand the construc tion of new technology centers, through a needs assessment\nprocess. This process shall be tied to specific criteria in determining if the\ncurrent programs or career pathways offered in locally and state -operated\nfacilities are appropriate for the students in the school districts served as well\nas for determining if new programs are needed. The statewide assessment of\ncapital needs for career and technical education shall be incorporated into the\nlocal school district facility plan as required by KRS 157.420 . The Kentucky\nBoard of Education shall incorporate criteria within the administrative\nregulations relating to school facility plan requirements to prioritize need for\ncareer and technical education programming, regardless of whether the\nprograms are locally or state-operated.\n(2) The Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee established in KRS\n156.806 shall be consulted in carrying out the requirements of this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42221","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:06Z","sha256":"5054398481f2ccc160a9b008e6025f2fb348a2b7e0780f859be871957bef18e6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.812","next":"us-ky/krs-158.816"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
