{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-158.832","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 158.832","heading":"Definitions for KRS 158.830 to 158.838.","body":"As used in KRS 158.830 to 158.838:\n(1) \"Anaphylaxis\" means an allergic reaction resulting from sensitization following\nprior contact with an antigen which can be a life -threatening emergency.\nAnaphylaxis may be triggered by, among other agents, foods, drugs, injections,\ninsect stings, and physical activity;\n(2) \"Bronchodilator rescue inhaler\" means medication used to relieve asthma\nsymptoms or respiratory distress along with devices and device components needed\nto appropriately administer the medication, including but not limited to disposable\nspacers;\n(3) \"Documented medical condition\" means a life -threatening allergy, asthma, risk of\nanaphylaxis, risk of respiratory distress, diabetes, hypoglycemia, adrenal crisis, or\nother life-threatening medical condition as diagnosed by a health care practitioner;\n(4) \"Medications\" means all medicines individually prescribed by a health care\npractitioner for the student that pertain to his or her documented medical condition,\nincluding epinephrine, bronchodilator rescue inhalers, nebulizers, glucagon, Solu -\nCortef, or other medication;\n(5) \"Health care practitioner\" means a physician or other health care provider who has\nprescriptive authority;\n(6) \"Self-administration\" means the student's use of his or her prescribed medications,\npursuant to prescription or written direction from the health care practitioner; and\n(7) \"Seizure action plan\" means a written, individualized health plan designed to\nacknowledge and prepare for the health care needs of a student diagnosed with a\nseizure disorder that is prepared by the student's treating physician.","path":["KRS Chapter 158"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56828","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:06Z","sha256":"c92b8e65f78998b00628177b3da2e8b80a1309dc0d0a51f9d480583405439b85","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-158.830","next":"us-ky/krs-158.834"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
