{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15a.069","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15A.069","heading":"Division of Placement Services -- Duties -- Reinvestment of juvenile justice","body":"facilities' savings.\n(1) There is established within the department a Division of Placement Services that\nshall be responsible:\n(a) For the management, policy direction, and coordination of all matters relating\nto the classification, evaluation, and placement of juveniles committed to or\ndetained by the department;\n(b) For the transportation of juveniles committed to or detained by the\ndepartment;\n(c) If the division places a juvenile in a county other than the county of\nadjudication or sentencing, for notifying a department caseworker in the\ncounty of placement of this fact; and\n(d) For notifying the District Court in the county of placement of the juvenile's\ncomplete offense record.\n(2) Any savings achieved by the Department of Juvenile Justice as a result of a\nreduction in the population in Department of Juvenile Justice facilities shall be\nreinvested as follows:\n(a) Fifty percent (50%) of all savings shall be reinvested into  Department of\nJuvenile Justice community supervision and aftercare services;\n(b) Twenty-five percent (25%) shall be reinvested in day treatment centers; and\n(c) Twenty-five percent (25%) shall be reinvested in the fiscal incentive program\nestablished in KRS 15A.062.\nThe oversight council established in KRS 15A.063 may recommend to the General\nAssembly modifications to the allocation of funds under this subsection.","path":["KRS Chapter 15A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43484","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:35Z","sha256":"537467ad562aac839f9ffe59399521e7d4844711d5af985bfe9747a1eaa6518c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15a.068","next":"us-ky/krs-15a.070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
