{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-15a.320","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 15A.320","heading":"Youth alternative centers.","body":"(1) Any county, urban -county, or charter county may apply to the Department of\nJuvenile Justice to construct, operate, or contract for the operation of a youth\nalternative center.\n(2) The youth alternative center shall be a nonsecure facility and shall be unde r the\njurisdiction of that governing body, subject to the provisions of this chapter.\n(3) The youth alternative center shall be used only for the detention of juveniles. The\nyouth alternative center shall not be part of a county jail or other facility that  houses\nadult offenders.\n(4) The youth alternative center may be used as a place of detention for juveniles by\norder of a court prior to adjudication and after adjudication regardless of whether\nthe child is a status offender, public offender, or youthful offender.","path":["KRS Chapter 15A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1069","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"89afaf716720f88fd191f2ed7606c598dd6a4f9f1217465dd1d46feb1fe4eba3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-15a.314","next":"us-ky/krs-15a.340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
