{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-16.065","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 16.065","heading":"Additional duties of department.","body":"In addition to the performance of all duties relating to the Department of Kentucky State\nPolice, the department shall perform the following functions:\n(1) Security of state facilities located in Frankfort;\n(2) Highway enforcement; and\n(3) Personal protection of a Medal of Honor recipient who:\n(a) Is a current Kentucky resident;\n(b) Is attending any public event or ceremony occurring within the\nCommonwealth of Kentucky, to which he or she has received an official\nwritten invitation;\n(c) Is representing for no reason other than being a recipient of the Medal of\nHonor; and\n(d) Has requested protection, in writing and with a copy of the official invitation,\nto the department no less than fourteen (14) days prior to the event;\nnot to exceed six (6) instances of protection per year.","path":["KRS Chapter 16"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55353","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"d21861cdfc8d53c34f99a9b21c8cce1676214b0d0e480eb6c82df8c956b5f9c4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-16.062","next":"us-ky/krs-16.066"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
