{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-16.066","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 16.066","heading":"Design and availability of forms relating to purchases of metals and objects","body":"containing metal -- Charges for copies -- Copyright -- Use of other facsimiles.\n(1) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall design the electronic and paper\nforms utilized in KRS 433.920(1) and any other forms and instructions necessary to\nimplement KRS 433.920.\n(2) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall make the forms and instructions\nutilized in subsection (1) of this section available on the department's int ernet\nwebsite for downloading by any person.\n(3) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall make single copies of the forms and\ninstructions utilized in subsection (1) of this section available as public records, at\nthe same rate charged for other public records. The department shall not be required\nto make multiple copies of the forms or instructions for any person, but may do so\nat the same rate charged for other public records.\n(4) Any person may make copies of the forms and instructions required by s ubsection\n(1) of this section and may charge for the copies. No person, other than the\nCommonwealth, shall apply for a copyright on the forms or instructions provided\nby the Department of Kentucky State Police. The Department of Kentucky State\nPolice may, in the name of the Commonwealth, apply for a copyright on the forms\nand instructions which it produces pursuant to this section.\n(5) A purchaser required to generate, maintain, and transmit records pursuant to KRS\n433.920:\n(a) 1. May utilize the forms desi gned by the Department of Kentucky State\nPolice; or\n2. May generate his or her own forms which shall contain at least the\ninformation required by KRS 433.920 and which may contain additional\ninformation required by a local government or by the purchaser; or\n(b) Shall use a form specified by a local government which has adopted an\nordinance in accordance with KRS 65.871 provided the form contains at least\nthe information required by KRS 433.920 and which may contain additional\ninformation required by the local government.","path":["KRS Chapter 16"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57088","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"a20f06ff6d13c1468b8ecfa69302210c15aaa6d9a7655a6a4617c2d2e8587b19","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-16.065","next":"us-ky/krs-16.068"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
