{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-16.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 16.130","heading":"Cooperation with other agencies, local officers -- Other states and federal","body":"government.\n(1) The commissioner shall cooperate and exchange information with any other\ndepartment or agency of this Commonwealth, or with other police forces, both\nwithin and  without this Commonwealth and with the federal government. The\ncommissioner may, when authorized by the Governor, negotiate with the\nappropriate officials of other states in the preparation of interstate compacts for\npolice protection as authorized by the  Federal Congress, and such compacts as\nnegotiated shall be submitted to the Governor and the General Assembly for\napproval.\n(2) All peace officers of the various political subdivisions of this Commonwealth shall\ncooperate with the department and the commi ssioner, and all officers thereof in the\nenforcement of the laws of this Commonwealth.","path":["KRS Chapter 16"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1104","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"b6c1aa0201e191f2ed1ce7c306cdb55c606e5b44d3f26e00859c0e2cb7d05c77","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-16.128","next":"us-ky/krs-16.132"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
