{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-16.197","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 16.197","heading":"Qualifications of individual employed as a Trooper R Class or a commercial","body":"vehicle enforcement officer R Class.\nAn individual employed as a Trooper R Class or a commercial vehicle enforcement\nofficer R class shall:\n(1) Be a retired officer who p rior to retirement was commissioned as an officer under\nthis chapter;\n(2) Be a retired member of the State Police Retirement System established by KRS\n16.505 to 16.652 or the Kentucky Employees Retirement System established by\nKRS 61.510 to 61.705, who retired with at least twenty (20) years of service credit;\n(3) Upon appointment to Trooper R Class or commercial vehicle enforcement officer R\nclass, have been separated from the service of the Department of Kentucky State\nPolice for a period no less than one  (1) month nor greater than sixty (60) months\nfollowing:\n(a) The individual's effective retirement date from the State Police Retirement\nSystem or the Kentucky Employees Retirement System; or\n(b) The individual's latest separation date from the service of the Department of\nKentucky State Police if the individual has previously been appointed to\nTrooper R Class or commercial vehicle enforcement officer R class;\n(4) Have retired willingly with no administrative charges against the officer pending\nunder KRS 16.140 or 16.192; and\n(5) Have retired with no pre -existing agreement between the employee and the\ndepartment prior to the employee's retirement for the employee to return to work\nwith the department.","path":["KRS Chapter 16"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56787","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"0d52a3c2c35946356318abcc9c921d8a18a80ce789ace50b10b9d86de19ce3f3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-16.196","next":"us-ky/krs-16.198"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
