{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-16.200","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 16.200","heading":"Renumbering of property having obscured numbers.","body":"(1) The Department of Kentucky State Police shall administer a program for the\ninvestigation of applications filed pursuant to KRS 514.130 and the disposition of\nproperty pursuant to KRS 500.090.\n(2) Upon a finding by the department or a local law enforcement agency assigned by\nthe department to investigate an application filed pursuant to KRS 514.120 that the\nproperty is lawfully owned by the applicant, the department shall issue, or cause to\nbe issued, in consultation with any state or federal regulatory agen cy, a suitable\nidentification number to be affixed to the property together with a document stating\nthe number so issued.\n(3) Upon a finding by the department or a local law enforcement agency assigned by\nthe department to investigate an application filed pursuant to KRS 514.120 that the\nproperty is not lawfully owned by the applicant, the department shall seize the\nproperty or cause it to be seized by the local agency and held for disposition by a\ncourt of competent jurisdiction.\n(4) The department shall p romulgate such administrative regulations as are reasonably\nnecessary to enforce the provisions of this section and KRS 500.090 and 514.130.","path":["KRS Chapter 16"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=1129","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:36Z","sha256":"652e4e891c608e7887f047f7376b8d7664232f5a0bf8d001845ae0bfdd036f4e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-16.199","next":"us-ky/krs-16.210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
