{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-160.158","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 160.158","heading":"Council for Community Education -- Membership -- Bylaws -- Officers --","body":"Meetings -- Reimbursement of expenses.\n(1) A state Council for Community Education shall be established for the purpose of\nadvising the commissioner of education and the Dep artment of Education on issues\nrelating to community education programs and making recommendations for the\nfunding of local community education programs.\n(2) The council shall have a membership of fifteen (15) persons, appointed by the\nGovernor. Membership  may include, but not be limited to, representatives of the\nfollowing groups:\n(a) Civic organizations;\n(b) Community-based organizations;\n(c) Community education organizations;\n(d) Local government;\n(e) Local school district administrators;\n(f) Parent organizations;\n(g) Postsecondary education;\n(h) School boards; and\n(i) Teachers.\n(3) In the event of a vacancy on the council, the Kentucky Community Education\nAssociation and the commissioner or his or her designee for community education\nshall work jointly t o create a list of at least three (3) nominees to present to the\nGovernor for consideration. If more than one (1) vacancy exists on the council at\nthe same time, the committee shall submit a number of nominees equal to three (3)\ntimes the number of vacancies. The Governor may select the appointee from among\nthe nominees.\n(4) The commissioner of education or the commissioner's designee shall convene the\nfirst meeting of the council for the purpose of establishing the bylaws of the council\nand electing officers to include: chairman, vice chairman, and secretary. The council\nshall schedule all subsequent meetings.\n(5) The council shall not meet more than four (4) times annually.
