{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-160.335","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 160.335","heading":"Board may distribute refurbished surplus technology to low -income","body":"students.\n(1) A local board of education may adopt a policy for distribution of refurbished\nsurplus technology to low -income students who do not have technology in their\nhomes. The policy shall include:\n(a) A written determination that the property no longer meets the Kentucky\nEducation Technology System standards established by the Kentucky\nDepartment of Education;\n(b) A process for identifying eligible students and distributing the surplus\ntechnology property; and\n(c) Documentation of all distributions of property.\n(2) The local district is encouraged to work with local businesses and organizations to\nparticipate in the program and with its career technical programs and student\norganizations to refurbish the technology.\n(3) The local district shall be subject to KR S 45A.425(1) to (4) for any surplus\ntechnology not distributed in accordance with this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 160"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3714","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:08Z","sha256":"7c25255798bd036f2263a7ec5808fcaff398a311063ebaf9ebd903a683a75cc5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-160.330","next":"us-ky/krs-160.340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
