He shall exercise\ngeneral supervision of the schools of his district, examine their condition and\nprogress, and keep himself informed of the progress in other districts. He shall\nprepare or have prepared all budgets, salary schedules, and reports required of his\nboard by statute or the Kentucky Board of Education. He shall advise himself of the\nneed of extension of the school system of the district, shall receive and examine\nreports from teachers and other school officers, and shall make reports from time to\ntime as required by the rules of his board or as directed by the board. He shall be\nresponsible to the board for the general condition of the schools. He shall be\nresponsible for all pers onnel actions including hiring, assignments, transfer,\ndismissal, suspension, reinstatement, promotion, and demotion and reporting the\nactions to the local board.\n(2) All personnel actions by the superintendent as described in subsection (1) of this\nsection shall be recorded in the minutes of the local board of education at the next\nmeeting after the action is taken and shall not be effective prior to receipt of written\nnotice of the personnel action by the affected employee from the superintendent.","path":["KRS Chapter 160"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57651","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:08Z","sha256":"4f8cae39a1ec1252389da04cbaaf17bd331a82a21139e9b72652c34bd5cb30c2","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-160.382","next":"us-ky/krs-160.395"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
