{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-161.152","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 161.152","heading":"Emergency leave for school employees.","body":"(1) For the purpose of this section, \"school personnel\" shall mean any person employed\nas a full-time employee in the public schools.\n(2) Each district board of education may allow each person employed as a full -time\nemployee in the public schools not to excee d three (3) emergency days per school\nyear for reasons designated by the district board of education, without loss of salary\nto the employee and without affecting his sick leave.\n(3) Personal leave granted under this section shall not be treated as having effect on the\nprovisions of KRS 161.155, except that school personnel, after using the maximum\ndays allowed in subsection (2) of this section, may, upon the recommendation of the\nschool district superintendent and approval of the district board of education, use up\nto three (3) sick -leave days per school year for emergency leave according to the\ndistrict board policy as established pursuant to subsection (2) of this section.\n(4) Payments made by a district board of education under the provisions of this sec tion\nare presumed to be for services rendered and for the benefit of the common schools\nand the payments do not affect the eligibility of any school district to participate in\nthe public school funding program as established in KRS Chapter 157.","path":["KRS Chapter 161"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3871","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:10Z","sha256":"04a9f424fc5b559ba06e380db6ba3d4067a74a99aa6fd86307ef732d0181678e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-161.151","next":"us-ky/krs-161.153"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
