{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-161.154","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 161.154","heading":"Personal leave days for school employees.","body":"(1) For the purpose of this section, \"school employees\" shall mean any person for\nwhom certification is required as a basis of employment in the public schools.\n(2) Each district board of education may provide up to three (3) personal leave days per\nschool year to school employees, without loss of salary to the employee and without\naffecting any other type of leave granted by law, regulation, or school board policy.\nLocal boards of education may establish policy regarding the number of teachers\nwho may take personal leave on any one (1) day.\n(3) Personal leave granted under this section shall not be treated as having effect on the\nprovisions of KRS 161.152 to 161.155 and shall be supported by personal statement\nof the school employee stating that the leave taken  is personal in nature; no other\nreason for or verification of the leave shall be required.\n(4) Payments to school employees made by a district board of education under the\nprovisions of this section are presumed to be for services rendered and for the\nbenefit of the common schools and such payments do not affect the eligibility of\nany school district to share in the distribution of funds from the public school\nfoundation program fund as established in KRS Chapter 157.","path":["KRS Chapter 161"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54115","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:10Z","sha256":"caff11b564bb1bcd056c90ecc1f93a5abbf372d303556238941263854d040992","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-161.153","next":"us-ky/krs-161.155"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
