{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-161.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 161.180","heading":"Supervision of pupils' conduct.","body":"(1) Each teacher and administrator in the public schools shall in accordance with the\nrules, regulations, and bylaws of the board of education made and adopted pursuant\nto KRS 160.290 for the conduct of pupils, hold pupils to a strict account for their\nconduct on school premises, on the way to and from school, and on school\nsponsored trips and activities.\n(2) The various boards of education of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the\nprincipals of the public schools, may use teacher's aides in supervisory capaciti es,\nsuch as playground supervision, hallway supervision, lunchroom and cafeteria\nsupervision, and other like duties, including, but not limited to, recreational\nactivities and athletic events, relating to the supervision and control of the conduct\nof the p upils; and while so engaged, such teacher's aides shall have the same\nauthority and responsibility as is granted to and imposed by law upon teachers in the\nperformance of the same or similar duties.","path":["KRS Chapter 161"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=3889","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:10Z","sha256":"8ef646b300f9cd921fe0aaabc0391bc6ac0068d1515ac99b9da1b9d6286af395","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-161.175","next":"us-ky/krs-161.185"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
