{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-161.290","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 161.290","heading":"Meetings, compensation, and expenses of board members.","body":"(1) The board of trustees shall meet on the third Monday during the months of March,\nJune, September, and December of each year. Special meetings may be called by the\nchairperson upon giving adequate notice to each member of the board of trustees.\nThe business to be transacted at special meetings shall be specified in the notice of\nthe meeting.\n(2) The members of the board of trustees shall serve without compensation, except that\nelective trustees shall receive ninety dollars ($90) for each day the board is in\nsession and all elected trustees shall be reimbursed from the expense fund for all\nnecessary expenses they incur through service to the board without limitation of the\nprovisions of KRS Chapters 44 and 45.\n(3) The board of trustees may authorize a per diem , not to exceed ninety dollars ($90)\nper day, for trustees representing the system on committees or commissions\nestablished by statute or for service as an official representative of the board of\ntrustees.\n(4) The school district or other public agency or entity of the state which employs a\nteacher trustee who is required to attend regular or special meetings of the board of\ntrustees, represent the system on committees or commissions, or serve as an official\nrepresentative of the board of trustees shall pro vide the teacher trustee with special\nleave with pay and pay the compensation for a substitute for the teacher trustee\nduring periods of absence upon certification by the teacher trustee that the trustee is\nperforming these duties for the system.","path":["KRS Chapter 161"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51616","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:10Z","sha256":"2bb1097745a38945621a39b3d4a3128e3635676e0539676c6b81441fdcd7d600","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-161.280","next":"us-ky/krs-161.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
