{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-162.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 162.040","heading":"Escheated property.","body":"So much property in each school district as escheats to the state, and is not required by the\nprovisions of KRS Chapter 393 to be disposed of in some other manner, shall vest in the\nstate for the use and benefit of the public schools in the district. The board of education of\nthe district may, in the name of the state and for the use and benefit of the schools of the\ndistrict, by its chairman or other officer designated by it, enter upon and take possession\nof the property, or sue for and recover the proper ty by action at law or in equity.
