{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-162.520","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 162.520","heading":"Definitions for KRS 162.520 to 162.620.","body":"As used in KRS 162.520 to 162.620, the following terms and words have the following\nrespective meanings, unless another meaning is clearly indicated by the context:\n(1) As used in KRS 162.540, 162.550, 162.580, 162.590, 162.600, and 162.620\n\"authority\" means \"State Property and Buildings Commission;\"\n(2) \"Department\" means the State Department of Education;\n(3) \"Board of education\" means the governing body of a county school district, or of an\nindependent school district, for which the authority issues its revenue bonds\npursuant to KRS 162.520 to 162.620;\n(4) \"Project\" means any undertaking to provide for a board of education any school\nbuildings, facilities, improvements, and appurtenances authorized in KRS 162.120\nto 162.300;\n(5) \"Lease\" or \"lease instrument\" means a written instrument for the leasing of one (1)\nor more school projects executed by the authority as lessor and a board of education\nas lessee, conforming to the specifications set forth in KRS 162.140;\n(6) \"Bonds\" or \"bonds of the authority\" means bonds issued by the authority under KRS\n162.520 to 162.620, payable as to principal and interest solely from rentals received\nfrom a board of education pursuant to a lease.","path":["KRS Chapter 162"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4086","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:12Z","sha256":"26820dbab2f5c27acaa96c40ba2ab85192e6a5c818856e4c1534048ca3657d64","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-162.510","next":"us-ky/krs-162.530"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
