{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.0282","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.0282","heading":"Duties of Council on Postsecondary Education as to professional","body":"education preparation programs.\nThe Council on Postsecondary Education shall:\n(1) Employ a director and sufficient staff to administer the professional education\npreparation programs;\n(2) Formulate guidelines and policies governing program activities and fund\nexpenditures;\n(3) Allocate funds to appropriate agencies, organizations, and institutions for the\npurpose of conducting activities approved in accordance with guidelines and\npolicies;\n(4) Recognize regional groups made up of professionals, educators, and consumers,\nwhich shall serve in an advisory capacity to the council in accordance with\nguidelines and policies;\n(5) Recognize a group made up of professionals, educators, and con sumers which shall\nserve in an advisory capacity to the council on all program matters;\n(6) Develop and maintain a mechanism for evaluating the impact of the program\nactivities on admissions to, and graduation from, professional schools, and on\nprofessional manpower distribution;\n(7) Conduct specific program activities which are beyond the capability of a single\ninstitution, agency, or organization, or when it is determined that it would be\ninappropriate for such institutions, agencies, or organizations to conduct the\nactivity;\n(8) Establish liaison with and provide assistance to the Kentucky Board of Education in\ndeveloping counseling and other related programs to encourage students from\nshortage areas to prepare for professional careers;\n(9) Coordinate the  development of a financial support system to enable potential\nprofessional students in underserved areas which will enhance their ability to apply\nfor, be admitted to, and graduate from professional education programs;\n(10) Report at least annually to the appropriate committees and interim committees of\nthe General Assembly on the operation of the program.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4182","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:14Z","sha256":"c3aa008e4461a512a9b05535b089c148118bbafc75b6c249bf6758bfa8780e6c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.0281","next":"us-ky/krs-164.0283"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
