{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.097","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.097","heading":"Certification of postsecondary institutions to receive funds for teacher","body":"education or model program.\nNo postsecondary education institution shall receive funds from the Council on\nPostsecondary Education from any trust fund for the purposes of teacher  education or\nmodel programs of teaching and learning unless the Education Professional Standards\nBoard has certified to the council that the institution has met the following conditions:\n(1) The college or university has developed viable partnerships with  local school\ndistricts and schools;\n(2) There is evidence of ongoing dialogue and collaboration among liberal arts and\nsciences faculty and administrators with faculty and administrators in the\ndepartment, school, or college of education;\n(3) The college or university has demonstrated a commitment to participate in teacher\nacademies;\n(4) The college or university has an active recruitment plan for attracting and retaining\nminority faculty as well as students, and particularly in the department, school, or\ncollege of education;\n(5) The college or university has initiated the development of incentives or rewards for\nfaculty across the institution to participate in service activities to local schools;\n(6) The department, school, or college of education has dev eloped at least one (1)\naccelerated alternative plan for teacher education or nontraditional program of\nteacher preparation, or commits to developing an accelerated alternative or\nnontraditional program;\n(7) The department, school, or college of education provides consistent and quality\nclassroom and field experiences, including early practicums and student teaching\nexperience for all students;\n(8) The department, school, or college of education has, as an element of its\ncurriculum, substantial course work and classroom and field experiences directly\naddressing teacher training in classroom management;\n(9) There are no major accreditation deficiencies; and\n(10) The institution has demonstrated at least one (1) or more innovations in teacher\neducation.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4202","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:14Z","sha256":"306ce1ccea06a493f31bcc88ac679e5c752bc57c45e621e1263e112ee604bf60","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.096","next":"us-ky/krs-164.098"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
