{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.220","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.220","heading":"Appointment, salaries and retirement benefits of university personnel.","body":"(1) The board of trustees may appoint a president, professors, assistants, tutors and\nother personnel and determine the compensation, duties and official relations of\neach. In the appointment of presidents, professors or instructors no preference shall\nbe shown to any religious denomination.\n(2) The board of trustees shall provide the compensation for all positions created and\nfilled by the board. In addition thereto the board may provide for employee\nretirement benefits and such other employee benefits as are related to the respective\nemployments and services rendered.\n(3) The board of trustees may establish and maintain such retirement plan or plans as it\nmay deem to be for the best interests of the University of Kentucky, including, but\nwithout limitation, th e retirement ages, the benefits of such employees including\ngroup insurance, annuities, establishment of a trust fund or funds; and, the amounts\nto be paid or contributed by such employees and the amounts to be paid or\ncontributed by the University of Kent ucky and other appropriate terms and\nprovisions with respect thereto.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4221","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:14Z","sha256":"64c9598f1e6674dff7b6879169b78024cc5997129f06be46ab835e302ef0b7db","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.210","next":"us-ky/krs-164.225"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
