{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.2896","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.2896","heading":"Governing boards to adopt and publish policy on viewpoint neutrality --","body":"Attorney General to enforce.\n(1) No later than June 30, 2025, each governing board shall:\n(a) Adopt a policy on viewpoint neutrality that prohibits discrimination on the\nbasis of an individual's political or social viewpoint and promotes intellectual\ndiversity within the institution; and\n(b) Publish the amended policy in the institution's student handbook and faculty\nhandbook and on a prominent, publicly accessible page o f the institution's\nwebsite.\n(2) An institution shall not require any individual to endorse or condemn a specific\nideology, political viewpoint, or social viewpoint to be eligible for hiring, contract\nrenewal, tenure, promotion, admission, or graduation.\n(3) The Attorney General may bring a civil action for a writ of mandamus to compel an\ninstitution to comply with this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=56407","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:15Z","sha256":"b888cf6d8a66544aff6fe09dabb3ec259a44406afe67f5d71b7223f65759378e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.2895","next":"us-ky/krs-164.2897"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
