{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.304","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.304","heading":"Teacher preparation programs for elementary and secondary regular","body":"education to include instruction on dyslexia and other learning disabilities and\ncore elements of multitiered system of supports.\nBy the 2027-2028 academic year, postsecondary in stitutions offering teacher preparation\nprograms for elementary and secondary regular education shall include instruction on:\n(1) The definition and characteristics of dyslexia;\n(2) Processes for identifying dyslexia;\n(3) Evidence-based interventions and a ccommodations for dyslexia and other disorders\ndefined in KRS 158.305 and related literacy and learning challenges; and\n(4) Core elements of a response-to-intervention framework addressing reading, writing,\nmathematics, and behavior, including;\n(a) Universal screening;\n(b) Evidence-based research interventions;\n(c) Progress monitoring of the effectiveness of interventions on student\nperformance;\n(d) Data-based decision-making procedures related to:\n1. Determining intervention effectiveness on student performance; and\n2.
