{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.475","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.475","heading":"Allocation of enrollment positions by state schools of medicine and","body":"dentistry -- Competitive selection of entering class medical, dental, or law\nstudents.\n(1) The boards of trustees of the state colleges and universities offering degree\nprograms in me dicine or dentistry shall allocate seventy percent (70%) of the\nenrollment positions for the entering class each year, equally among each of the\nKentucky Supreme Court districts, using the population of each Supreme Court\ndistrict as determined by the last decennial federal census to determine that district's\nproportion of the positions, and shall assign these apportioned enrollment positions\nfor each district to those applicants who are legal residents in that Supreme Court\ndistrict.\n(2) Fifteen percent (1 5%) of the remaining positions shall be allocated to the state at -\nlarge and assigned to applicants who are legal residents at any place within the State\nof Kentucky.\n(3) Any qualified legal resident shall have a preference in securing an assignment to a\nposition when compared to a nonresident.\n(4) The total number of nonresidents assigned positions shall not exceed fifteen percent\n(15%) of the total entering class enrollment positions assigned for any school year.\n(5) The selection of entering class medical , dental, or law students shall be\naccomplished competitively with due consideration being given scholastic\nstandings, recommendations of the pre -professional advisory committees of the\nvarious schools where the applicants pursue the pre-professional academic program,\nand their performance on any required admission test, and any other procedures that\ndeal fairly with the applicant group as a whole.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4295","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:15Z","sha256":"41ea7a334ff973ad76a7b1faa70ee81aacf6327f63a2fcfa131cfcdb581e39dc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.470","next":"us-ky/krs-164.476"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
