{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.5161","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.5161","heading":"Kentucky National Guard Tuition Award Program -- Administrative","body":"regulations.\n(1) \"Educational institution\" means an in -state public or private postsecondary\neducational institution.\n(2) The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky establishes  the National\nGuard Tuition Award Program to provide members of the Kentucky National Guard\nthe opportunity to attend an in-state educational institution. The tuition paid shall be\nup to or equal to the in -state full or part -time tuition rate of the instit ution the\nmember attends except that tuition paid in support of a member attending a private\npostsecondary educational institution shall be up to or equal to the average in -state\nfull or part -time tuition rate of a public university or community college. U ntil the\nappropriation for the tuition assistance program of the Department of Military\nAffairs is first fully funded by the General Assembly, tuition for a member to attend\na private institution shall not be paid. The tuition award program shall be\nestablished in the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority.\n(3) The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority pursuant to KRS Chapter\n13A, shall promulgate administrative regulations necessary to the financial\nmanagement of the tuition award program.\n(4) The Department of Military Affairs, pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A, shall\npromulgate administrative regulations concerning the eligibility of members to\nparticipate in the tuition award program established in this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4311","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:16Z","sha256":"ac74b350d86d804e4f0bc3a162a603a858795937fdc97c9c72a332c71df304b9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.516","next":"us-ky/krs-164.5165"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
