{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.518","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.518","heading":"Scholarships and awards for persons who are employed or provide","body":"training in child-care and early childhood settings.\n(1) It is the intent of the General Assembly to create a seamless system to upgrade the\nprofessional development of persons who  are employed or provide training in a\nchild-care or early childhood setting through scholarships, merit awards, and\nmonetary incentives, to assist these persons in obtaining a child development\nassociate credential, post -secondary certificate, diploma, de gree, or specialty\ncredential in an area of study determined by the Early Childhood Advisory Council.\n(2) Eligibility for scholarship funds shall be for individuals who do not have access to\nprofessional development funds from other education programs that  receive state or\nfederal funds, and who are:\n(a) Employed at least twenty (20) hours per week providing services in a child -\ncare or early childhood setting; or\n(b) Involved in providing professional development training for teachers in an\nearly childhood setting.\n(3) The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, after consultation with the\nEarly Childhood Advisory Council and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services,\nshall promulgate administrative regulations, including a system of monetary\nincentives for scholarship program participants for completing classes, in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A as necessary to implement this section.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42139","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:16Z","sha256":"e75135c8c550e379b2839fa3315cf31c4d403f5b6a5dd0e4b3507770aad3c8f3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.5169","next":"us-ky/krs-164.520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
