{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.600","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.600","heading":"Chancellor -- Duties relating to budget, operations plan, and day -to-day","body":"operations of college.\n(1) As used in this section and KRS 164.321 and 164.591, unless the context requires\notherwise:\n(a) \"Campus\" means a location of a college of the system that is not located\ncontiguous to the main college location;\n(b) \"Chancellor\" means the chief officer of a college or colleges within the\nsystem;\n(c) \"College\" means a community college, a technical college, or a community\nand technical college within the system;\n(d) \"KCTCS president\" means the president of the system;\n(e) \"Relative\" means father, mother, brother, brother -in-law, sister, sister -in-law,\nhusband, wife, son, daughter, aunt, uncle, first cousin, son -in-law, and\ndaughter-in-law; and\n(f) \"System\" or \"KCTCS\" means the Kentucky Community and Technical\nCollege System.\n(2) There shall be a chancellor named for each college under the Kentucky Community\nand Technical College system.\n(3) Each chancellor shall be responsible for creating an annual budget request for his or\nher college and submitting it to the KCTCS president for consideration in the\ncreation of the systemwide budget request to be submitted to the General Assembly.\n(4) Each chancellor shall create and implement an operations plan for his or her college\nthat is developed in coordination with local employers, civic leaders, campus\nconstituents, and other postsecondary institutions in the region and consistent with\nthe strategic agenda of the Council on Postsecondary Education. The KCTCS\npresident shall review and approve each operations plan prior to implementation by\nthe chancellor of each college.\n(5) Each chancellor shall implement his or her college's budget within the system\nbudget as approved by the KCTCS board of regents under KRS 164.350.\n(6) Each chancellor shall be responsible for the day -to-day operations of his or her\ncollege.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=57981","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:16Z","sha256":"a869ad95d6bdd7c966e44d3112b2339e2111593ed85f7df3f2408245656a8ca8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.599","next":"us-ky/krs-164.6011"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
