{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.625","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.625","heading":"Regulations, authority, and duty of director of extension -- Extension","body":"council, membership, bylaws.\n(1) The director of extension is hereby authorized to promulgate regulations relating to\nthe establishment of and continuation of extension councils. S aid regulations may\napply to a specific county.\n(2) An extension council shall be established for each extension district. Each extension\ncouncil shall be organized under regulations approved by the director of extension\nand shall be comprised of not less than fifteen (15) citizens nor more than forty (40)\ncitizens of the county in which the extension district is located, subject to the\nprovisions of subsection (2) of KRS 164.635. All members of the extension council\nshall be appointed by the county groups and organizations of the county whose\nmajor interest is in agriculture and home economics such as farm bureaus,\nhomemaker councils, 4 -H Club councils and various commodity groups but is not\nnecessarily limited to those mentioned. In event of question the eligibility of a group\nto appoint to the extension council shall be determined by the director of extension.\nThe number of members of each extension council shall be determined by the size\nof the county, the diversity of agricultural interests of the county , and other like\nfactors and shall be according to regulations mentioned in subsection (1) of this\nsection. Each extension council shall adopt a set of bylaws providing for its\noperation and terms of membership according to the same regulations.\n(3) All re gulations issued under the provisions of this section shall be filed in\naccordance with KRS Chapter 13A. Immediately after filing, the director of\nextension shall cause the text of every regulation to be published pursuant to KRS\nChapter 424. The director of extension shall also mail two (2) copies of every\nregulation to the county clerk of the county in which the regulation is applicable,\none (1) copy of which shall be posted on the courthouse door or bulletin board.\nAdditional distribution may be made at the discretion of the director of extension.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=4367","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:16Z","sha256":"5579427fd07139932c572cd505493ce5f51c27069a4a4470ee9028ba64775b48","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.620","next":"us-ky/krs-164.630"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
