{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-164.6951","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 164.6951","heading":"Agreements and agency contracts governed by laws of the","body":"Commonwealth -- Parent or guardian of minor may enter into agreement or\nagency contract -- Reaffirmation.\n(1) For the purposes of this section, \"student-athlete\" shall have the same meaning as in\nKRS 164.6903.\n(2) For all student -athletes enrolled in institutions within the Commonwealth, all\ninstitutional agreements, NIL agreements, and agency contracts shall be governed\nby the laws of the Commonwealth.\n(3) The parent or guardian of a mino r student-athlete may enter the minor into an NIL\nagreement or an agency contract on the minor's behalf. However, the minor shall\nreaffirm the NIL agreement or agency contract within thirty (30) days of reaching\nthe age of eighteen (18) or the contract or agreement shall be revoked.\n(4) A student-athlete or prospective student -athlete shall reaffirm an NIL agreement or\nan agency contract, either of which was formed or reaffirmed before or while the\nstudent-athlete was participating in intercollegiate athlet ics at an institution, within\nthirty (30) days of the student -athlete no longer participating in intercollegiate\nathletics at that institution or the contract or agreement shall be revoked.","path":["KRS Chapter 164"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=55882","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:51:17Z","sha256":"dc05947cce7b297356b678a6f058a89d32368204eee5603b870b0f894321e1f9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-164.6949","next":"us-ky/krs-164.7011"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
